Fine on a reach, gybes require some adjustment to technique

Barrel Carrier trial 1 was a success in that the concept seemed sound. Trial 2 involved a couple of minor geometry adjustments.

Here is the first working build of the barrel holder which underwent its first sea trial on Sunday (8th Feb 2015). The basic concept is a barrel which sits on a hinged arm.

My brother and I had a second go at sailing around the Isle of Wight and for a second time we were foiled by a shortage of wind.

An early test sail around Walton Backwaters with my Dad, and friends Ken and Toppo in Lasers. It was a real treat to sail amongst the seals that live behind Horsey Island.

Sail from Southbourne to Poole with Clyde and Gregg. A really good upwind in good breeze. After a short break the wind disappeared for what should have been a great blast back downwind.
